If you have a large lawn there is no better time and energy saver than a good riding lawn mower. But with all the different models out there, how do you choose? Here are some ratings that should help you find the best riding lawn mowers for the best price.
- The Snapper 2812523BVE riding mower was rated as the best riding mower at the best price by Consumer Guide. At $1599.99 it corners a bit wide, but otherwise tends to give the best value for the cost in this review.
Also rated at the top by Consumer Guide is the Craftsman DYS 4500 riding mower. It was considered sturdy, easy to handle, comfortable and efficient machine. At $2000 it rates well in all categories but costs a little more for the quality.
Consumer Guide chose the Simplicity Coronet 13-horsepower riding mower for their 'Budget Buy Choice'. It is a good machine with most of what you want in a smaller package for less demanding use. It also needs an optional attachment for mulching. I'm not so sure about the budget part, though, as most of the sites placed it at around $2000. - Consumer Search also has posted some helpful reviews for the best riding mowers at the best price.
At $900, the Bolens M762F came in highly rated for light duty use. It's best for flatter areas and is a good value with a 2-year warranty, but it tends to be a bit uncomfortable and noisy.
Highly reviewed, the John Deere X304 cost considerably more at $3500. Consumer Search felt this riding mower was tops in maneuverability, and performance. The only drawback is the higher price.
The choice for a zero-turn lawn mower went to the Cub Cadet iSeries ZTT 42. Costing an estimated $2700 this riding mower performed great in maneuverability and speed. It wasn't great on mulching or comfort, though. - There are many more riding lawnmowers to choose from. And ratings vary depending on who is doing the testing.
